A Writer Who Can't Blog? - J. S. Council

A Writer Who Can’t Blog?

So, I’ve been fighting an epic battle these last few weeks about what I should blog about on my website. Never having blogged before, I am much like a nestling without its nest; flapping my wings but going nowhere fast. What subject-matter should I focus on? How often should I post? How personal should I make my blogs? How long? How short? Pictures? No? Yes? Maybe?

So I did a bit of research on how to write a ‘good’ blog post and I got a few good tips from an article called Ten Tips for Writing a Blog Post.  I like this article because its straight forward and it answers more questions than it raises.

I also found a Blogging For Dummies website as well that was surprising helpful. Interesting enough, it’s not as straight forward as the Ten Tips article but I think that has more to do with the formatting (Which apparently can play a huge part in a good/bad post)

Now, if you are a writer, want to become a writer, or just like reading content written by and for writers, here is a list of the top ten award-winning bloggers that you may know and/or like.

Blogs like Men With Pens and Confident Writing have all been awarded top marks on more than one occasion, Men With Pens being awarded the Top Ten spot from 2008 to 2011. Worth looking into if you ask me.

Well I really hope this helps anyone who, like me, is trying to start a blog and has absolutely NO CLUE where to go from the Hello World entry blog.

As always, please leave comments, questions, or requests in the comment’s box and I’ll be sure to comment back as soon as I can!

Thanks for reading!

^_^

Hello Mike! Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the comment! I’m working on improving my blogging skills but I’ll try to put things that I think might be helpful or be interesting for new writers. ^_^

Hey, good to find soemone who agrees with me. GMTA.

  • Please read, I have a lot of experience in article writing and actually offer it as a service, Is there any chance that I could do a guest post for your website? I am willing to write about any topic and it will be at least 600 words. The post will be 100% unique as I will have a member of my team write it for me. All i would like in return is one link at the bottom of the post (like a resource box when you submit to an article site) If you are interested please use the email I have provided in this comment, as you can see it’s my main business email :). I really look forward to your reply thanks a lot for taking the time to read this comment I know how long it can sometimes take to go through all the spam comments that people leave these days. Thanks again, Lee

  • I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you design this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you? Plz respond as I’m looking to create my own blog and would like to find out where u got this from. many thanks

  • Its really challenging topic to discuss. I wrote an article which is only just for beginners. I wrote 3 Roles to be a Good Blogger , but in this 2 roles are easily achieved by writers.
